MOSCOW

Moscow is the capital of Russia, its political, economic, commercial and cultural centre. There are a lot of beautiful palaces, cathedrals, churches and monuments in Moscow. All in all, I must say that Moscow is my home city. I'm proud of my city.

The Kremlin

Cathedral of St.Basil the Blessed
It was built as a monument to the defeat of the Kazan Khanate at the hands of  Ivan  IV

Monument to Mini and Pozharskiy,
heroes of the national struggle for liberation against the Swedish and Polish ivaders in 1610-1612.
It was created by the sculptor I.P.Martos in 1818.

Bell Tower of Ivan the Great.
This 81-meter bell tower with its gilded dome is a magnificent example of 16th-century architecture.

Lenin Mausoleum
The building was erected in 1929-30 to plans by Shchusev

The History Museum.
Founded in 1883 by the architects Semonov and Sherwood and radically reorganized in 1921.
It was built in the typical Old Russian style.

The Friendship Fountain in the All-Russian Exhibition Center

Moscow State University,
 aslo known as Lomonosov University from the name of the 18-th centure of Moscow University,
new complex was completed in 1953.

Kievskaya StationThe Moscow Metro.
It is unique in thw world. Construction of the underground system began in 1931.
